What data do we collect?

Picnic Pie collects the following data:

You directly provide Picnic Pie with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

• Provide your information to us or complete survey for us at trade shows and other in-person events.

Picnic Pie stores your data on servers operated by DigitalOcean, LLC, located in New York. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit using TLS, encryption of data at rest, access controls that limit employee access to what is needed to do their job, and regular backups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your data for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

Who we share your data with

Picnic Pie, inc. does not sell your personal data. We share it only in the circumstances described below.

Service providers. We use third-party companies to operate our platform. They may access your data only as needed to provide services to us, and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes:

• Hosting and infrastructure: DigitalOcean, LLC stores our application data and databases.
• Payment processing: Stripe, Inc. processes payments and handles card details. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.
• Email delivery: Mailgun sends transactional email such as order confirmations and password resets, and our marketing email where you've opted in.
• SMS delivery: Twilio sends marketing and transactional text messages such as order confirmations and delivery notices as well as SMS marketing where you’ve opted in.

Other users of the platform. If you set up a store with us, the information you publish such as business name, address, item listings and images are displayed publicly to shoppers. When a customer places an order, we share the information the merchant needs to fulfill it, including name, delivery address, and order contents.

Legal and safety. We may disclose data where we are required to by law, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to enforce our terms, investigate fraud, or protect the rights and safety of our users.

Business transfers. If Picnic Pie is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Marketing

With your permission, Picnic Pie will send you email about our own products, features, and offers we think you'll find useful. We ask for your consent when you sign up, and you can change your mind at any time.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can update your preferences in your account settings or email us at support@picnicpie.app. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages such as order confirmations, security alerts, and service notices which are necessary for us to run your account.

Advertising. We may advertise Picnic Pie on other websites and platforms, including Google and Meta. To reach the right people, we may share a hashed, non-readable version of your email address with these platforms so they can show our ads to you or to people with similar interests. These platforms act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your details to market their own products to you. You can opt out by emailing us at support@picnicpie.app, and you can also control ad personalization in your Google and Meta account settings.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not give your contact details to other companies for them to market their own products to you.

What are your data protection rights?

Picnic Pie would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
